An Honest Conversation with Cheyanne Teka and Sacha Copland

There is no script and no choreography and this performance can only ever happen once. The vision of Sacha Copland, this intriguing creation is unlike anything you’ve seen before, or will ever see again. 42 year old choreographer Sacha Copland and 24 year old local Cheyanne Teka will talk while dancing for 1 hour. They will try to be honest. Sacha has choreographed 20 full length dance theatre works and performed all over the world. Now she wants to talk and dance. Cheyanne has danced all over Aotearoa and returned home. Cheyanne and Sacha will try to dance, talk and be honest. “Kia ora! I'm Cheyanne, I’m from Taranaki and whakapapa to Ngati Ruanui, Nga Rauru and Te Āti haunui – ā – pāpārangi. I’m super excited to get back on stage and see what the space holds.” “Hi I’m Sacha. I grew up in a tiny village in Canterbury. I have danced in cities with 25 million people, moving buses and in empty hall in Invercargill. Now I want to dance and talk and try to be honest in New Plymouth with Cheyanne Teka.”
